I ran into networking issues with Virt-Manager on CachyOS. My virtual machines couldn’t access the internet unless I switched from UFW to Firewalld. Because of that, and the frequent large updates, I switched to Ubuntu 25.10, where internet connectivity for my VMs works flawlessly.

After using Ubuntu 25.10 on my laptop for a few days, I was more and more bothered by the slow app start. The terminal, Files, Browser, all took roughly two seconds to launch. If the laptop were my only device, I might have gotten used to it. But switching between GhostBSD and Ubuntu made the delay feel even longer than it was.
Because of that, and a few more issues, I did the unthinkable and installed Windows 11 Pro. This completes my migration plan and officially ends my 25-year Linux journey.
